Remote Control Console

Post by agustinpineda »

Hello.
I am testing hosmonitor 5.60 Beta and everything seems to work fine locally. When I try to connect using remote console from a different subnet I get a connection error message. I am able to ping the server ip, port 1054 is open on the firewall, and the ip range is configured properly. User name and password are also correct. I am running windows 2000 SP4. Any ideas?

Thanks

May be firewall translates IP address?
Could you enable "Record info about accepted connections" and "Record info about rejected connections" options on RCI page in the Options dialog and check system log (log that is specified on Advanced Logs page in the Options dialog)?

I have exactly the same problem

Post by wue »

Hi

I have exactly the same problem width 5.60BETA. I have no problem with the connection in the same firewall-zone, but behind the firewall I receive the message 'connection error'

May be firewall translates IP address?

No. Our Firewall (fortigate) between these two zones is ok. (alle ports open, no NAT)

Could you enable "Record info about accepted connections" and "record info about rejected connections" options on RCI page in the Options dialog and check system log (log that is specified on Advanced Logs page in the Options dialog)?

ok. but the log-file is empty.

Thanks

If logging is enabled and log is empty, it means HostMonitor does not receive connection request at all. Definitely something wrong with firewall

RCC over Firewall

Post by wue »

Hello

I checked again the Firewall. I see the open session on port 1054 in the Firewall, so the TCP-Port 1054 is open. The Log-File is still empty. Any ideas ?

Thanks

Yes. The session on port 1054 exists after the RCC display error.

Thanks

The only idea I have - timeout issue. Could you try to increase timeout?
