On our monitoring reports, the % Alive Time is based on the percentage of failed tests to successful tests. Is there a way to base this percentage on the dead time / alive time instead?
If we detected a monitoring error, we change the testing schedule, with the result the failed/successful test ratio isn't an accurate indicator of the true "Alive" percentage.
To give you an example, in our office we regularly carry out maintenance on servers and they can be offline for a couple of hours at a time. We don't usually stop the monitoring (we usually forget), and here are some results.
Srvr 1. %Alive:99.72 Uptime:218 days 31 min Dead Time:7hr 49min
Srvr 2. %Alive:99.74 Uptime:218 days 35 min Dead Time:9hr 59min
Server 2 has been unavailable about 25% longer than Server 1 over the same period of time, but has a higher Alive percentage because the number of failed tests for server 1 is slightly greater.
Also, if we take the dead time/Alive Time ratios - a truer indicator of a server's uptime percentage we get:
Srvr 1 - 99.85% Alive
Srvr 2 - 99.81% Alive
These are quite a bit different from the Alive % being reported.
% Alive Time
Its impossible in current version. I have added task into "to do" list. Probably will be implemented in next version. On our monitoring reports, the % Alive Time is based on the percentage of failed tests to successful tests. Is there a way to base this percentage on the dead time / alive time instead?

Ok, there is update at www.ks-soft.net/download/hm494.zip
New switch (statistics mode) located on Miscellaneous page in the Options dialog.
This is "unofficial" update, means there are some undocumented modifications. It was tested and seems to be working fine but it was not tested much. So, better if you keep your eyes on it for a while.
