private logs in txt

Greetings, I am a little confused about how to get a Private log to be stored in txt format. I have the System log set to text format under Options, Log Settings. I think that, although I am not using the Common log, that these setting apply to the Private log if Default is selected in the Test Prop...

Apologies...
Yes, I verified the password.
Yes, I tried a different local account (not Local System account) and it was not the Admin account.
Nothing worked...

Thanks again.

Sorry, probbaly my fault as I keep hopping in and out trying different things... I tried using different logins from the Test Properties window but it didn't work. Then... I changed the account that the Advance Host Monitor service was using when it starts. (I did this despite warnings about it need...

Still can't get this test to work even using an Admin account...though I had no problem getting the same test to work (easily) on a test system where this same version of HM was NOT running as a service, that was the only difference... I did not yet try Marcus' suggestion from before as I did not wa...

What account then should I use to start the HM service as? I assume it will need admin rights, correct?
I thought KS-Soft has always suggested using the local system account...

Thanks, Marcus.

I used the Browse button to select the server... It is v 4 and it is running as a service. I launched v 4 not as a service, configured everything exactly the same (admin-level login) and it worked. Just can't get it to work when it is a service.... If you could reproduce that or confirm, that would ...

Oops...version 4, not RMA. Hmmm...I tend to keep trying different things until it works, so I probably did try admin and then also other accounts with less access. Will need to verify but yes, remote registry is probably stopped. So it sounds like Admin rights and remote reg should do the trick. Che...

That's odd...when I first created this test, I didn't get this error at all. In fact, it did a little pause before it showed the drop down list which made me think it was really connecting to the other server before showing the drop list of logs or Event sources. But now when I drop down either of t...

While you are at it, it would be nice if there was a log of the emails messages that were send out.

Event Log test "unknown"

I have a number of different tests which are performed against a server. The DNS service test works, the Login service test works, the UNC directory test works, but an Event log test returns "unknown." It does this regardless of who I "connect as." Configuring the test (selecting...

date format in logs

When I go into the Log Analyzer, the pane on the right which shows the text of the log entries shows the date in Day/Month/Year format. I didn't see any place in the Options to change this... If you don't want to bother making it configurable option, it would be a little cleaner (IMHO) if it was in ...

It's just interesting because the UNC test works on the folder without anything in the ConnectAs box.
But testing the same folder fails as a Folder/File Availability test doesn't.
Also, a NetLogon service test works when ConnectAs uses the username and pw above.

Service logon

Hi, I hope you can help me, I just started running this as a service and am trying to get this setup right. Note #1: When HostMonitor starts as a service, it uses the system account (as all interactive services). But this account may not have all the necessary permissions, so some tests will not wor...

Start / Stop on toolbar

Is there a way, in v. 4, to get the Start/Stop icon to stay on the toolbar? Rather than disappearing when the program is running?
