Problem with variable in Folder/File Availability

Post by Hello »

Hello,

My problem is that. I like a variable in "File and Folder name" would be handed over \\FILE02\public\IT\Notfall\HOSTNAME\Systemstatus\.
My idea was it to the variable %Folder% instead of HOSTNAME to use. The option Translate macros is active, but it does not. What am I doing wrong?

The Foldername is the Hostname.

Is technically possible?
We have HostMonitor 5.88

cheers

This will not work because %Folder% variable is defined as variable for the alerts and should be used with actions. With "Translate macros" option enabled you may use special date macro variables and User Defined Variables in file name.

If you want to setup the same test for a bunch of servers, you may use "Replicator" utility.
Quote from the manual:

Although Replicator is a very small application it serves to save you huge amounts of time. Those who have large networks with hundreds of servers will appreciate the ability to replicate a test (i.e. reproduce and apply to...) for an array of systems in almost an instant. For example if you have a CPU Usage test that works on one machine, with the help of a Replicator you may reproduce the same test for every workstation without a hassle of setting the parameters of each of them separately.
