Hi !
Running HM 6.82 on Win2003 SP2:
When editing a disabled test that uses an RMA it seems like HM doesn't try to connect to the RMA if the test uses test method "TCP connection" or "Service". This is of course fine as the reason for the disabling might be that the agent is not available at the moment.
However if the method "Free Disk Space" is beeing used HM tries to connect to the agent even if the test is disabled causing HM to hang until it comes up with a connection error. A minor bug ?
There might be other test methods that also causes this but so far I haven't seen them.
Best regards
Kasper

Re: HM checks RMA even if test is disabled
Actually, I do not think it is a bug, because in case of "Drive Free Space" test method, HostMonitor is trying to request drive letters list from RMA to suggest you select appropriate drive from "Drive" combobox. I think, the user have to be able to change the drive letter regardless test is disabled or not. Don't you think so?Kapz wrote:However if the method "Free Disk Space" is beeing used HM tries to connect to the agent even if the test is disabled causing HM to hang until it comes up with a connection error. Yes - and it *can* in fact be done.
It seems like HM shows me the correct drives in the drop down menu no matter if the agent is operational or not - perhaps the drive list is sort of cached ?
If this is the case there is no reason why HM should show the timeout message for a non-operational agent in "Drive Free Space" tests.
