Sure will do If "ran a local Performance Counter sample" means "setup Performance Counter test to check CPU Usage", then what means "using the option to 'Run As' the domain account we monitor"? There is an option to do the local performance counters as a different user ...

OK, I'll try and be clearer. All tests are run from an Active RMA agent (we run across EMEA and have 1 or 2 RMAs per site). The Active RMA runs as a domain account, which has local admin privilege on all servers it monitors. The CPU check runs fine on all other servers. All other checks run fine on ...

OK well that isn't a massive sample, but it would appear to be working OK .. though I can't be 100% sure it's running in the right context - I changed the 'RunAs' properties of the counter log to the account, but going back into it still shows as 'Default' .. maybe this is a display issue, but I can...

It's a domain account, that has local admin privilege on the tested server. Same account is working for other servers connected to the same RMA, running the same test. So the active RMA service is runnning as this user, which is defined to the problem server in its local Administrators group. We don...

The test is run from an active RMA, and the service is running in the context of an admin user.

I've tried 'Connect As' with a couple of other accounts, also no luck

Perfect, thank you - option 1 is what I was looking for.

The problem with option 2 is that either test could conceivably be the Active copy of the db server .. so the master / dependant order would have to change.

If you have a fixed maintenance window, then maybe a schedule for the tests would cover it?

SQL Mirror backup monitoring

Hi All, A little problem that I'm struggling to solve in HM We have an active/passive MS SQL database mirror running on two hosts. We monitor these hosts for backup and transaction log backups. Of course the passive partner doesn't do any transaction log backups, as it doesn't need too. So the test ...

You should reconsider not using SNMP. The HP agents that are required to show RAID health (including via WMI as far as I know) require that you install SNMP (it's a pre req in the PSP install). Once in place it's trivial - check SNMP for OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.1.3.0 .. anything other than a 2 is a pr...

Windows 2003 R2.

As soon as you change a service to run under a specific account (under'Log On' tab) you lose the ability tio tick the 'Interact with desktop' box. This means you don't get the 'front end' running down in the task bar,
so have to use RCC to connect to the service.
