Logging SNMP Test Data

Post by johnkr »

I have Host Monitor configured to monitor a Redline wireless bridge device receive level via SNMP. It is able to poll it fine and display the present and last polled values just fine. It also works fine to alert me when this level drops below a certain point, and when it returns to normal.

My question is, does HM have a way to log the results of each of these individual tests? I would be happy with a simple text file that I could import into Excel. Preferably it would include the Time of the test and the returned value.

By the way, I am running version 4.07.

Thank You

Yes, you may setup separate log file for the test. Just mark "Use private log" property of the test and provide path to the log file. Type of a private log is determined based on the file extension: HTML for .htm*, DBF for .dbf, plain text for any other extension.
Use "Full" log option that tells HostMonitor should record all test results, regardless of whether their status had changed or not.
