Monitoring server hard drives

I am evaulating the latest version of Host Monitor and I am trying to monitor the free space on one of my servers. I understand that I need to use a UNC test to do this. However I am reluctant to share the server drives in order to do this. Is there any way that I can monitor the drives without sharing them.

Or you can use the (hidden) $-shares if you have admin rights.
