Can I remotely execute an application or restart a process ?

I have many applications that run on servers logged in. These are VB apps and somewhat unstable. I would like to be able to restart these processes much the same way as I restart services.

You may try PsTools, cool set of freeware command line utilities http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freew ... ools.shtml
E.g. you may use "Execute external program" action and PsExec utility to start process on remote system
