TCP test using RMA 1.06 beta

Post by Flashback »

I am trying to connect to a remote device and check to see if a specific port is open. The machine Hostmonitor is running on does not have direct access to this port (hence the reason for using the agent). When I perform the test using the RMA, I get "No Answer". I installed HostMonitor on the machine that had the RMA to see if the port wasn't open. When I used HostMonitor itself to check to see if the port is open, I recieved "Host Alive".

The RMA is running on NT Server 4.0 SP6a. The test is TCP Connection.

Cannot reproduce this problem. Can I reach your server thru Internet (the one that cannot be tested by agent)?

Unfortunately it is in a private network. Is there anything I can do from this end to help?

Could you send test settings to support@ks-soft.net? Just export test into text file and send it to us.
BTW: What version of HostMonitor do you use? 4.06?

I upgraded to 4.07 yesterday, and all of my agents have been upgraded to 1.06.

I checked your test settings and I think 10 msec is too small timeout interval. Please ry to increase it

That worked. I increased the timeout to 1000 ms and I was able to get through. Thanks!
