Storing monitoring results in a database

Post by BoschmanIT »

Hi guys,

We are considering to store all monitoring results into a database. Since we need to build up this database from scratch, does anyone have a recommendations for a database structure? Eg. tables, columns etc.

Any input is appreciated.

Everything depends on your needs but there are some sample and recommendations in the manual and in the help file. Please check page 496 of manual.pdf file (if you are using latest version of the software)

Or you may open appropriate page in the Options dialog (Primary log or Backup log), press F1 and scroll couple pages down

Hi Alex,

We have now the MSSQL database operational but we noticed that a lot of logs are missing in the database. I assume some of the test get tested more frequently then Hostmonitor can write it to the database. Is there a log where I can check this?

Use Auditing Tool and check system log for errors
- menu View->Auditing Toll
- menu View->System log

Also check common logging options, if you want to see all test results, use Full logging mode.

Also Info pane may show logging pool usage in real time
