Alex,
What´s the best procedure to upgrade from 3.70 do 4.02 and mantain all the settings ?
Regards,
Jromariz.
Upgrade from 3.70 to 4.02 beta
If you already tested new version and you want to install it on production system then:
- start installation program
! click Upgrade
- click Next
- specify path to HostMonitor 3 as destination path
- select package (Lite, Standard, etc)
- click Next
- click Install
- start HostMonitor
If you want to install new version for testing, than:
- start installation program
- click Next
! specify path to new directory
- select package (Lite, Standard, etc)
- click Next
- click Install
- copy all *.LST, *.HML files from HostMonitor 3 directory to new HostMonitor 4 directory
- start HostMonitor
Also you may copy hostmon.ini file (settings that you defined in Options dialog). In this case I would recommend modify this file before start HostMonitor to change paths to new location (log files, HML file with tests, reports). Just use any text editor and Search&Replace command.

>where are the action profiles stored?
actions.lst file
But I would not recommend copy configuration files one by one and check what's happen. If you copy just one file (e.g. actions.lst) and start HostMonitor, HostMonitor loads actions but may not find report or mail profiles that are used by actions (because you did not copy MailList.lst and RepPList.lst files).
>Is copying the 2 filetypes enough to use the configured action profiles?
Copying all LST files enough to use the configured action profiles.
