Send e-mail Profiles ?

Post by AlexL »

In various Action Profiles we can define various Send e-mail actions, which can have their own names (Action name).

Now, why not store those Send e-mail actions as "Send email Profiles" and be able to reuse them, by changing the "Action name" field into a dropdown list?

Well, it will make it possible to store and reuse certain combinations of settings for Send e-mail: "To:", "Subj:" and "Mail template:".

Such "Send e-mail" templates could be reused:
- in different action profiles,
- and even in the same action profile - in both Bad status action and Good status action. Right now, for example, if I need the same e-mail action in both Bad and Good status actions, I have to define the e-mail settings again.

Action Properties dialog shows recently used options (addresses, subject, etc) in drop down lists. I think you need just 10 seconds to create new "Send e-mail" action (when templates are ready).
How much time this new option would save? 5 sec? While it will make interface more complicated.
I don't think we will implement this feature
and even in the same action profile - in both Bad status action and Good status action. Right now, for example, if I need the same e-mail action in both Bad and Good status actions, I have to define the e-mail settings again
When you setup one action after another, HostMontior keeps recently used addresses so you may create 2nd action within 5 seconds.
