If several persons have access to HostMonitor, you may assigndifferent set of permissions to each operator. E.g. you may provide "start/stop monitoring" permission to single person.

Monitoring was stopped on ours at some point also...Is there a way of showing (from a log maybe) when monitoring was stopped?
I can see that the monitoring log was updating steadily up to 13:35 on 12/3/09 but then there is a large gap up to 00:00:29 on 13/3/09 then about 4 seconds where lots of log info was added, then a further gap until roughly when I turned back on monitoring at 11.29am 13/3/09
I didnt know monitoring could be turned off, so only reading this topic did I turn it back on

Sure. You may take a look at system log file ("View" -> "System Log") and see messages like: "Monitor stopped" or "Monitoring stopped. Operator: some_user".SWWMedia wrote:Monitoring was stopped on ours at some point also...Is there a way of showing (from a log maybe) when monitoring was stopped?
Hm. Actually, HostMonitor writes only important messages into "System log" and information about stopping monitoring should be present as well unless HostMonitor process was killed.SWWMedia wrote:I can see that the monitoring log was updating steadily up to 13:35 on 12/3/09 but then there is a large gap up to 00:00:29 on 13/3/09 then about 4 seconds where lots of log info was added, then a further gap until roughly when I turned back on monitoring at 11.29am 13/3/09
BTW. There are several useful options located on "Options" -> "Startup" tab.
