Troubleshooting Mail Relay Test Failure
Troubleshooting Mail Relay Test Failure
I have a mail relay test configured on HostMonitor v7.50. Lately, it has reported repeated failures, but the mail administrator sees nothing wrong. I would like to be able to check the incoming message for timestamps to see exactly how long it is taking. I know that the test automatically deletes the test mail message from the IMAP mailbox. I don't see the deleted messages in my trash. Is there a way to tell the test NOT to delete the test messages so that I can check them?
If you choose "Alert when incoming mail server does not receive mail before next checking cycle" HostMonitor will not check and remove mail until next test probe.
What exactly means "has reported repeated failures"? What is test status? Bad? No answer? Unknown? Any message in Reply field of the test?
Regards
Alex
