Show IP Address of test in Web Service

Post by sneader »

In web service, if I see something is down and I click it, I can see all sorts of information... dependencies, alive/dead time, the quick log... the only thing I can't find (or isn't there) is the actual IP address or host name of the device that is down.

So, if I have a router called "Main Street Router" and it is going up/down, I don't have the IP address handy so I can analyze further, etc.

Right now, I have to check my e-mail and in the e-mail the IP is there. Or I can log into the Host Monitor server and edit the test to see it.

Maybe it's there and I can't find it?

You are right, Web Service does not provide such information... unless you add this info into "comment" property of the test item.
I have added new task into "to do" list

Add also a column "Host Name" or "IP address" (analogue of a variable %HostAddr%) in Test Detail Area main window HM, please.
