Traffic Monitor Test Problem

Post by Rob Moore »

Hello--

I just finished setting up 8 Traffic Monitor tests. All of them seem to be working fine except one. They're all configured identically (I just copied the previous test), and SNMP is configured identically on each of the servers, too.

The errors I get when the test tries to run are:
1. Status: Unknown
2. Reply: Cannot retrieve data. Unknown variable (OID).

If I try to choose a network interface, I get "Error: Cannot retrieve data. Unknown variable (OID)."

The IP addresses are correct. There are no errors in the Event Log on either the target or the HostMonitor computer.

I have no experience with SNMP until yesterday, when I started setting these up. Can you tell me what the errors might mean? I believe the problem is with the target, not HostMonitor itself. I'm unable to find anything useful on EventID.Net or at MS or by Googling the error.

HostMonitor version = 4.47 Beta
OS of HostMonitor workstation = Windows XP SP1
OS of target = Windows 2000 Server SP4

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

I didn't find any useful information about this problem either :-(
Could you try to restart SNMP Service on target system? May be this help...
