Cisco OID

Post by ericm »

This is the easiest way I have found for getting Cisco OID. I used snmpeye to get all the OID's off my 2610 router. Then I looked at the results for the obvious ones. Those where I could not (wish were alot) figure out I went to
http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/Support/M ... s&st=2#oid

this takes most of the oid out for you as you can see 1.3.6.1.4.1.9 is getting you to the cisco part of the OID. From there I went to .2.1 where I found alot of things I was looking for. the # in the () is the next OID number. (Just in case you didn't know) Ok now here is a secret I learned with HM.
Most of the time when I setup a test useing a OID I would have to make sure that I ended it with a . in order to get it to work. It is just something I learned the hard way and want the rest of us newbies to know in advance.

Most of you probably all ready know this but if I can save 1 person the headache I had finding OIDs then I am happy. :) Also if you still have problems drop me a email or PM and I will try my best to help you out.
