First I’d like to say I’m very impressed with AHM and we’ve made it a central component of our server infrastructure. I currently keep the web client quick log on my desktop all day to monitor our servers. I use the quick log view because I find the one summary and 250 servers in the dashboard view inconvenient. For purely usability/aesthetic reasons it would be handy to be able to create custom summaries and have a configurable HTML dashboard. For instance I would like have summaries for our servers by function and line of business across many subfolders in AHM. Along this same line of thought it would be useful for management, when running reports, if we could have a summary report by server groups. Example, Server group Alpha consisting of 8 servers has, Average ping alive time is 98.5%, average CPU usage is 31%, average memory in use is 22%, total alerts 29, Etc.
The only other thing I’d wish for is a Disable test for %X% amount of time option. Example, disable alerts on this server for one hour. After which time alerts would be automatically enabled. This is simply because I’m lazy and don’t want to have to remember to re-enable the tests after I’m done making a change and rebooting a subset of servers at 2:00am.
Web client and user interface wishlist
We have such task in our "to do" list. Medium priority. The only other thing I’d wish for is a Disable test for %X% amount of time option.
Templates support, like HostMonitor's "Custom HTML" reports? Yes, it may have sense. For purely usability/aesthetic reasons it would be handy to be able to create custom summaries and have a configurable HTML dashboard
I have added item into "to do" list. But not sure it can be implemented soon, may be in version 6.
