Report with selected folders

Post by brettw »

Hi All,

Is it possible to create a report based on certain folders in the same report and exclude certain folders?
e.g
root\folder1\ping tests for some location
root\folder2\disk space check for some location

Thanks

If you choose "Use folder's own report settings" option in "Folder Properties" dialog and use "Generate reports" action for parent folder with "Recursive mode: Folder & subfolders with inherited settings" option, then this folder will be exluded from the report.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the reply.

What im trying to do is create a report with different folders that are in different locations.
i.e Create a report for say Sydney with the ping tests and disk space however do not want to include the Melbourne ping tests in the report. The structure is below.

Root
Ping Tests
Sydney--> Tests Under Here
Melbourne -- > tests Under Here

Disk Space
Sydney--> Tests Under Here
Melbourne -- > tests Under Here

Is it also possible to create a report that can be emailed automatically?

Thanks

Its possible if you want to create report for Sydney only.
But if you want to create one report for Sydney and another for Melbourne, its impossible. In this case you should reorganize folders:
Root
- Sydney tests
-- Ping
-- Disc Space

- Melbourne tests
-- Ping
-- Disk Space
Is it also possible to create a report that can be emailed automatically?
Create action profile with 2 actions:
1) "Generate reports"
2) "Send e-mail"
Action profile can be assigned to some test, or it can be started by built-in Scheduler (see Options dialog).

If you have setup HostMonitor to generate reports on regular interval (using Options or Folder Properties dialog), simpy mark "Execute action profile when complete" option and create alert profile with single "Send e-mail" action.
