Execute external program

Post by Wooltown »

Hello !

I have a problem with Execute external Program
Hm 4.42 on Windows 2003 running as Service.

I have a program for sending SMS, on the same server as HM, not running as a service, and I wish to start the program if it fails, but if I do, the program will be "inside" HM, HM will not just start it and leave it started as when you start a normal program in Windows, it seems like it is running inside HM.

Don't know it this should be under another forum.

Regards
Sven

"running inside HM"? No, application cannot run inside HostMonitor. But it is executed under user account that was specified for HostMonitor's service.
What exactly the problem? Application doesn't work correctly? What account do you use to start service (HostMonitor)?

It's kind of strange to explain but, if I restart the program, using HM I canot get the control over it, I can see the program is running in Task Manager, but I can't see it on the desktop. I only see the frame of the program. The program is SMS-Maker from http://www.way-x.de/smsmaker.

Could you try to call any other program from HostMonitor (that is running as service)?
I just tested this option on my system - works fine. I can see and control applications that were started by HostMonitor.

BTW: http://www.way-x.de/smsmaker - password protected page
