Greetings,
Wow, what a great tool! It has such an easy-to-use interface and yet has amazing flexibility. Congratulations.
I've been using this in eval mode for a while and am just now getting serious about trying to configure it to do the various things we need it to do to replace our old alerting system.
My question is about the e-mail alerts I am getting. I am running this on my W2K workstation. My primary Action Profile is simply to sound an alarm and send me an email. So one of the Bad Action Properties I have is to send me an e-mail after two Bads. That same Action Property has a Good Action to send me an e-mail after two Goods. Everything works great, except if the item being tested fails for a short period (circuit drops away momentarily), I often get only a Good email alert without having gotten a Bad email alert. I think this has to do with the timing of the test/retest, but I would like to understand how to change this.
Thanks, and keep up the good work.
Mike
Sometimes No Bads, Only Goods
Mike,
To avoid unnecessary "Good" action execution use "Action depends on bad one" option. There are link to on-line documentation http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... pendsOnBad
