Tests out of schedule

Post by Marcus »

Every now and then, we have a strange problem: Tests are and stay out of schedule, while the test should be performed. Stopping and starting HostMonitor solves the problem.

There seems to be no consistent behaviour when this occurs. What we do see however is that some tests have a very high recurrenses count (> 3000), while the tests should be performed every 10 minutes.

And of course this only happens to tests that go 'out of schedule' during the night. Tests that have a 24x7 schedule are not affected.

I cannot reproduce this problem. What version of HostMonitor do you use?
Is it properly registered? No registration dialog on screen? No messages in the Event Log? Nobody stopped monitoring at night time?
Could you send screen shot when it happens next time (support@ks-soft.net)?

If test was performed for 3 weeks without changing status, Recurrences counter should be > 3000.

4.48 beta, Yes, No and No
No messages in the Event Log?
Not before or during the times this error occurs. The last message before this problem was a start message. The first messaage after this problem was a stop message :D

The syslog of HostMonitor states the start time of HostMonitor and several failures of tests (tests actually running ok but with a bad result on the action: a service tests has a bad result and HostMonitor tries to start the service, which in turn will fail when there is a network failure and HostMonitor reports this failure in the syslog)
If test was performed for 3 weeks without changing status, Recurrences counter should be > 3000
But this count is found with several tests that run every weekday during bussiness hours.
