HTTP Check - How to see what data is returned?

Post by mpriess »

Hi Alex,

Is there a way, using the HTTP Check, to see the contents being returned after posting XML data? I'm running into some problems configuring the "should contain" section because I cannot see by default what data is being returned. Thanks for your help.

One option here would be to use a sniffer such as EtherReal (http://www.ethereal.com - available free) to capture return
traffic from the server and decide what you want to use for your
"should contain"

I completely forgot: IP-Tools has HTTP utility  It has similar settings and use the same code, so it can be used to simulate HostMonitor's requests.
