Is Remote Reboot supported with RMA ?

Post by Micro-Point »

I'm having trouble getting remote or local reboot to work with an RMA client. Actually, setting the action to local reboot rebooted the Server, not the RMA client (even though the test was via an RMA agent) !!

???? RMA does not perform any actions, it performs tests only.

reboot via agent

Let me rephrase the question:

I have Hostmonitor 4.10 running on Server A.

I have the RMA 1.07 client running on Server B.

I have a Ping test in Hostmonitor on Server A that tests using the Agent on Server B.

When the test is successful, I want to reboot Server B.

Possible ?

Possible but without using the agent.
Use "Reboot remote system" action

Only works on same network

Thanks for the info.

I guess it won't work for me in this case, since the two servers are not on the same network/domain.

It will if you make sure the account HostMonitor is using when it connects has sufficient rights on the remote machine. This can be a local account, with the same name and password of the HostMonitor account.

In future versions of RMA we will implement actions as well.
