Im having a problem.. I get errors when trying to bring up the web page for HM4.0.
Transmission error (Web Service <-> HostMonitor): "Connection error"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Possible reasons:
- HostMonitor not started
- RCI interface disabled
- HM Web Service configured incorrectly (wrong TCP Port or IP address)
- network problem

The username is Admin.
Go to the User menu in the hostmonitor application and selct Operators. Copy the admin account and create another one for yourself.

Or just change the Admin user account password to something you like.

Correct.
And please, set passwords for each account that has permission to change settings.

I have the same problem than MROSS, sometimes...
somtime it's good, sometimes I miss pictures (/images/red1.gif, etc...), somitimes I have the message :
Transmission error (Web Service <-> HostMonitor): "Cannot read data"
Hostmonitor Web Server runs on NT4/SP6a on the same machine than hostmonitor itself.

Looks like you need to increase value of the "Maximum simultaneous connections" parameter (located on RCI page in the Options dialog).

Quote from the manual:
Maximum simultaneous connections
This option specifies the maximum number of simultaneous remote connections that HostMonitor may accept from the remote users.
It is important to note here that even just one user that connects to HostMonitor via web browser may generate several simultaneous connections. When an internet browser acquires the document from the internet it may fetch several parts of the document at once to increase performance. Thus "Maximum simultaneous connections" option of the HostMonitor's RCI interface should be set to 4 (minimum) if you plan to use web browser to control HostMonitor (even if just one user at a time will be connected to HostMonitor). Otherwise the web browser may not be able to display a web page with an interface of the HostMonitor correctly.

What value of the parameter do you use?
