Hi,
Roughly once per day(or every second day or so) our Hostmon server hangs. Just the Hostmon service and RCC, not the entire Windows Server which works fine.
It runs as a service and normally uses very low system resources. Below 5% CPU and around 100MB ram.
But when it hangs the RCC gets very unresponsive and works for 2 seconds and then freezes for about 10 seconds and so on.
And if I check hostmon.exe its usually stuck around 25% CPU
The only solution I have is to first quit RCC. (if I start it again I can´t login)
Then shutdown the Windows Service(hostmon.exe), then restart it again.
After that RCC can log in and all is fine.
At the moment I´m running v12.70 but we have had this problem for a long time, atleast over 6 months, perhaps a year and we have regularly updated hostmon as new version come.
Any idea on how to troubleshoot this?
Thanks for any help.
//Andreas..
Hostmon server hangs.
Please contact support by e-mail. We will need Auditing Tool results, syslog file, may be additional tests setup and config files..
I think its a good idea to report problem right away:
- you will not waste your time with bad software
- its easier to find mistake made a week ago than mistake made a year ago
Regards
Alex
It could help if you recall exact version that brought this problem. At the moment I´m running v12.70 but we have had this problem for a long time, atleast over 6 months, perhaps a year and we have regularly updated hostmon as new version come.
