Support for more GSM modems, ie usb internet sticks

The new usb based internet sticks, rocket hubs etc. need to be added. I have a Novatel U679 that works great with the competition but not so great with Host Monitor.

LTE modem?
Cannot find enough information regarding Novatel U679 and SMS over LTE... May be it uses SMPP protocol?
