What exactly means "Freespace"? Is this "Disk Free Space" test? "UNC" test? Does it check local drive? Mapped drive?
Services cannot reach mapped drives, such "mapping" exist in user session only.
If you want to check shared network drive, use UNC test and specify UNC path like \\server\resulrcename
If you are using HostMonitor version 9.22 and remote system allows WMI connections, then you may check disk space on remote system using Drive Free Space test method. Just specify hostname (or IP address) and disk name.
Plus you should provide correct account information using Connection Manager (menu Profiles). Have you specified accounts for remote connections?
Regarding: DHCP/DNS. These tests work regardless of user rights, should work in service and application mode.
What Windows do you use? Service Pack?
Do you have installed some antivirus monitors, personal firewall, content monitoring software? Non stanard winsock components?
Could you try to disable UAC?
Regards
Alex

Is this "Disk Free Space" test?
(this is correct)
"UNC" test? (yes)
Does it check local drive? (yes)
Mapped drive? (no)

What Windows do you use? Service Pack?
(currently using Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1)
Do you have installed some antivirus monitors
(yes Symantec),
personal firewall,(symantec windows firewall turned off)
content monitoring software? (NO)
Non stanard winsock components?(NO)
Could you try to disable UAC? (NO)

"access is denied" error for local drive check?
Something is really wrong with your system...
Could you please move HostMonitor to another, clean system?

Sorry about the information I provided above, some of it is incorrect as I recently realized.
What exactly means "Free space"? (We are running a WMI query to monitor free space on remote servers.)
Is this "Disk Free Space" test? (No.)
"UNC" test? (No. WMI test.)
Does it check local drive? (Yes, but most of the tests are meant for remote computers. Same WMI query, different hosts.)
Mapped drive? (No)
If you are using Host Monitor version 9.22 (currently using 9.22)
What Windows do you use? Service Pack? (currently using Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1, for HostMonitor. Remote servers are 2003 SP3 and Server 2008 R2 SP1)
Do you have installed some antivirus monitors (yes Symantec EndPoint Protection),
personal firewall,(Symantec EndPoint Protection, Windows firewall is turned off)
content monitoring software? (No)
Non stanard winsock components?(No)
Could you try to disable UAC? (No. If we have to disable UAC to get HM to work, we’ll need to use a different monitoring software.)
I am confused as to why the remote service tests work, but the WMI queries fail. We Ping all the servers every ten minutes to make sure they are up. The Ping test is a prerequisite for all the service tests on that server, ie. Get a ‘Good’ response from the Ping test, then test all SQL services on the SQL server. On the Exchange server, test all Exchange services, etc. Again, the Ping and Service check tests work as designed, whether running as an Application or as a Service. The recently added DNS, DHCP and Disk space (via WMI) tests only run as an Application. When run as a Service the response is access denied. The KS Advanced Host Monitor service is running as Local System. We have put a Domain Admin account into the Options | Startup | Service | Log on as … The tests still aren’t working.

Well, this is totally different issue.Sorry about the information I provided above, some of it is incorrect as I recently realized.

1) Please check if you have specified correct acount fot target hosts using Connection Manager and "WMI" item is marked in the list
(use menu View->Connection Manager)
2) Why are you using WMI test method to check disk space? HostMonitor offers special test method for such task.
Aha, you do not use DNS and DHCP tests, you are using WMI test but told us this is DNS and DHCP test method. Please do not do that, we cannot understand what are you doing when you are using wrong names for each test method. The recently added DNS, DHCP and Disk space (via WMI)
The same question? Why you do not use dedicated test methods?
DNS test works faster.
DNS test works regardless of user rights.
DNS test use less resources than WMI Query.
DNS test will provide 100% correct result - either hostname can be resolved or cannot be resolved. While some WMI query cannot quarantee that DNS request will work (e.g. DNS requests can be blocked by some firewall).
Unless we misunderstand you again and this test is not related to DNS protocol itself but some WMI query that checks resources on your DNS server.
Probably it would be much better to understand you when you send your test settings and account setup to us (support@ks-soft.net)
