Custum Status?

Here is what i want to know

I have AWS(Amazon) servers and i have a script that turns them off at a certain time of the day.. this servers are Staging and testing phase of my product and i don't need them on when i don't use them. so i want to receive an email from host-monitor if the shutdown script fails and server is still on, and also want to receive an email if the shutdown was successful.

My question is,
Is there a way to make custom status on and of?
and is there a way to make a reverse of the Bad and good status?

You can't use custom statuses, however, you may use custom Reply, by using "Tune Up reply value" option:
