eMail Test fails due to protocol error

HM 9.18 running as a service on W2003
Exchange Server 2003

We set up an email test.
The login to the exchange server obviously works
But independently of the bad mail requirements we get the reply:

BAD Protocol Error: "Unexpected additional characters at the end of command"

Any idea what to do?

It works fine with our Exchange server...

If you are not using SSL, can you log HostMonitor<->Exchange traffic and send to us (you may use WireShark "sniffer")?

May we see your test settings?
(you may export test settings into text file and send it to support@ks-soft.net)

Hi Alex,

good idea to sniff the traffic:

The problem was the character "§" in the password causing the login to fail.

I sent a screenshot to your support.
