Post by Wabiloo »

Hi.

Today I have started using ODBC logs with SQL Server.
When trying to use Log Analyzer to read the logs, it returns the following error: '6/20/2008 3:11:56 PM' is not a valid date and time.

Indeed, the logs contain an 'eventtime' column in "mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss AM/PM" format, but Log Analyzer seems to refuse to read it.

On another one of my servers, it logs everything in european format (dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss 24h) and the log analyzer has no problem.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to tell HM in what format to log and read?

I suppose, the different date and time options are specified on the machine, where Log Analyzer is started. You may use "Use fixed date&time format" option, located in LogAnalyzer menu "Options" -> "Interface" tab, to set up proper date format. Quote from the manual:
http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/la/index.htm#Options
=================================
Use fixed date&time format
By default Log Analyzer gets current Windows regional settings at startup and uses these parameters until you change Windows settings and restart application. You may use this option to define the date & time formats (e.g. DD/MM/YYYY h:mm:ss AMPM). In this case, Log Analyzer will use the specified formats overriding the system settings.
