mail relay test

Post by Baptiste »

Hi,

I try to test mail relay but I always have unknown host status.

There is my mail relay test properties :

Outgoing mail server :
protocol : smtp
host : server1
port : 25
timeout : 15
login : userdomaine
password : ********

Incoming mail server :
protocol : pop3
host : pop.gmail.com
port : 995
timeout : 15
login : user@gmail.com
password : ********

Mail
from : user@domaine.net To : user@gmail.com

Alert when incoming mail server does not recieve mail within 60sec

gmail.com requires TLS/SSL authentication, which is not supported by MailRelay test method. I think, that's the cause why you are getting "Unknown" status. We plan to implement TLS/SSL authentication for SMTP services, but I am not sure when it will be done.

Sorry, I do not know. I suppose, all the web mailboxes use TLS/SSL auth because of security reasons. Most of our customers use corporative mail servers and do not use public mailboxes.
