I need help in checking the event log on a server that is not in the domain that HM is in. I am specifying a user account that exists on the server. I can "manage" the remote server and see the event logs from the MMC, but when I try to display the list event sources, I cannot retrieve the list. I am using HM V3.40. Does the remote user need any special privleges? Am I missing something?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

I looked at that post, and this is still not working. Basically, I am running HM under an NT4 domain account, but the same user account exists locally on the HM box. I have created the same user credentials on the remote server that I'm trying to monitor and I set the job to connect using that account, but I still cannot get a list of event sources  Help is appreciated. Thanks!

I checked source code for HostMonitor 3.40. Test Properties dialog does not retrieve list of Logs from remote system, it always uses list from local system. It was corrected in version 3.56
