Hostmonitor Status with Service

Post by dmuller »

I noticed in the new version of Hostmonitor that the tray icon appeared (that was an awesome addition btw), however it has vanished and I can not seem to get it back. Any ideas?

Actually tray icon was implemented in version 1, about 7 years ago :)

Please check the following settings:
- "Icon is system tray" option should be enabled (Preferences page in the Options dialog)
- If HostMonitor is running in service mode, make sure service is started under Local System account and "Allow service to interact with desktop" option is enabled
If HostMonitor is started as service on remote system and you are using Terminal Service to work with remote system, you cannot see icon and HostMonitor's GUI at all. In such case you should use RCC instead of Terminal Service

If you're running W2K3, you could use option /console when using mstsc.. :)
