I have a test which checks for varous event ID in the eventlog on a remote machine.
Although I ask it to check every 1 hour it does not seem to check every hour or anywhere near. Quite often when I am notified that the event has been found I check the server and it has actually occurred several days previously.
Any ideas why it does not seem to be checking as often as I have asked ?
Thanks
Will

Could you provide more information, please?
- What version of HostMonitor do you use?
- What Windows is installed on the machine, where Hostmonitor is running?
- What Windows is installed on the remote machine you check?
- Is HostMonitor started as a service or as an application?
- Is the "NT Event log" test performed by HostMonitor itself or by RMA, installed on remote machine?
Could you export that particular test using menu "File" -> "Export to text file" and send it to support@ks-soft.net ?
Regards,
Max

Hostmonitor Version 6.82 (just upgraded today to see if it will work better but no difference)
Hostmonitor is running on Windows XP SP2
Remote Agent is on a Windows 2003 Server SP2 (fully updated) but have the same problem on Windows 2003 SP1 and Windows 2000 SP4
Hostmonitor is running as a service
NT Eventlog test is run by the remote agent running on the Windows 2003 Server.
Will email the .txt file now.

Thank you. Got the file.willhartley wrote:Will email the .txt file now.
So, as I can see, the test is sheduled to be performed once a day at 09:00, not every hour. Are you sure you have setup the 1 hour interval?
Also I see the test depends on master test, so it can be performed only if master test is alive.
Please, verify your settings once more. Probably, you have exported wrong test to send?

Max

Thank you. Got the file.
Actually, I see nothing special.
What exact logging mode is specified in "Primary Log" tab of the "Options" dialog? Could you select the "Save information about every performed test (Full)" loging mode from "Default logging mode" dropdown? Also you have to enable "Use private log" option in "Test properties" window for that particular test. The "Save information about every performed test (Full)" option tells HostMonitor to add a record every time a test is performed, so, we will be able to find out was the test performed on time or not.
