RMA on Linux: Diskfreespace incorrect

Post by PeterS4 »

We have RMA 1.22 running on severals Linux boxes. (Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3).
The problem is that there is a big difference between the freespace value returned from RMA and the actual freespace.
Example:
df -h
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol02 50G 45G 2.6G 95% /var

and the value returned by RMA: 5218Mb

How can this difference be explained?
Because of this, we had a full filesystem that wasn't noticed (0 bytes free, but HostMonitor still reported 2595Mb free).

I think, you should use RMA 1.23
Please, download and install appropriate binary packages: http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/down ... #fromusers
If it does not help, please send request to support@ks-soft.net and we will send you the sources to compile the agent directly on your system.

I found the answer:
In the UNC (availability/free space) test, I used 'total free space is less than' which gives me the wrong results.
I changed it to 'free space (for caller) less than' which gives me the correct values.
Upgrade to version 1.23 didn't change anything by the way..

regards,

Peter
