RCC Enhancements

Post by CapQwerty »

My RCC wish lists for RCC
I would like to see RCC be capable of managing the RMA components ( register, change ports etc)

RCC version check. Often we all have to upgrade the RCC.exe to be able to connect to the monitoring station, We would like the ability to detect the client needs an update and pull that file directly from either a configured site or direct from KS-Soft

RCC often takes some time to disconnect from the server

RCC does not remember the Hostname so why provide a drop down list?

Apart from all that the latest version's of Hostmon with the Warning status is a real benefit for us so a very big thankyou.

Regards

H'm.. you need only one version of RCC, the one that comes with HostMonitor. Installation program updates HostMonitor and RCC. If you start RCC from that server, you should not have any problems with versions incompatibility.
May be I misunderstood the problem? Are you using different versions of HostMonitor at the same time?

Not sure I understand what exactly is the problem? It needs too much time? 3 sec? 5 min?

RCC stores last host name, unless it cannot store information in the registry on in the ini file.
You don't like drop down lists? Or you need a history of the servers?

You are welcome :)

When you take an update of hostmon you then have to distribute out the rcc.exe to anyone who connects that way.

Around 10 seconds in this version, previously it was a little hit and miss

No problem with the drop down list but it does not remember anyone except the last.

RCC can be started from your server ("a configured site"). So, what option we should implement? I think its already implemented, you just need to provide access to your server (share resource).

We cannot reproduce the problem. What version of RCC do you use? Windows? Service Pack? Any 3rd part software like antivirus monitor, personal firewall? How many test items do you have in the list?
