variables

Post by fering »

Hi,

I would like to know if there is a convenient way to copy alert from one server to another without the need to make manual changes.
For example by using variables but not just in comments?

Thanks

What exactly means "copy alert from one server to another"?
You want to move HostMonitor from one machine to another? Then you need to copy all *.LST, *.INI and *.HML files.

No, i mean once i create an alert for server A & i want to use the same for Server B i can copy the once already created for A to B BUT i wil then need to change the correct settings for server B. I was wondering if there is a way to use for example %server_ip% instead of hard coding an IP
etc ....

Usually, you don't need to copy profiles. You may use single profile for thousands of servers.

It depends on
- what exactly action do you use
- what parameter of the action relates to server name

Please read the following sections of the manual:
- http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... .htm#macro
- http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... acroparams
