G'day,
whilst checking the visual (bad) test status (say a red background on the line) disappears.
This is annoying for short tests like ping with 500ms timeout but very bad for tests taking more time.
Especially annoying as we re-check every (few) second(s) when a bad test status happens.
Besides the current way makes the screen perpetually changing which is absolutely not desirable for professional usage. It is nice for showing off to the boss but almost unusable for serious work.
Could you please add an option of not altering any color whilst checking? I see the status "Checking" in status column.
When you're just at it please also add an option of only altering background OR foreground color whilst checking.
Thank you, Rainer
no color change whilst checking, please
almost unusable? Interesting. How 10,000 companies can use this product?almost unusable for serious work
Ok. I have added your request into "do to" list. Medium priorityCould you please add an option of not altering any color whilst checking? I see the status "Checking" in status column.

C'mon Alex, be serious. Your argument is common within successful companies but ridiculous. How can millions of companies use Windows with all it's annoyances, bugs and vulnerabilities?KS-Soft wrote:almost unusable? Interesting. There is a difference between putting up with something and adoring it. All admins I know appreciate having an overview with one single look. And BTW why do you think do most if not all other monitoring products only show results?
Only the guy maintaining HM itself is interested in the state "checking" at all. All others only want to know "good" or "bad". Information overload is a successful DOS tactic.
Thank you for adding it however!
Merry christmas,
Rainer
I think "checking" is not a problem for most people for 2 reasons:
1) admin does not sit and look at console all day. GUI is necessary to setup tests and alerts. Then system should work without any attention
2) if somebody checks test statuses on regular basis, it uses compact/custom reports that may show thousand items on the screen.
Reports and logs do not show "checking" status. It was designed for GUI because GUI is used for detailed problem inverstigation.
But if thousands of customers never complained about such option (you are first in 5 years), probably its not a bad option?
If more people request the same change, I will change priority level to "high"

I am serious. I think 60% of all functions provided by HostMonitor were implemented by customer requests. So, we are listening to our customers pretty wellC'mon Alex, be serious. Your argument is common within successful companies but ridiculous.

Alex,
I am more than fine with level "medium".
I just sit having a look at the console when being bored at work... I might have a look what other consoles there are. I was not aware ther was an auto-updating other console not showing this "checking" state.
And I hate divorces, Alex. So should I really marry christmas?
Have a great day, Rainer
