Can I resolve the problem by configuring with a proxy?

I cannot get my email alert to send to all the email addresses that I indicated. The SMTP server was able to relay an internal email address, but not external email address. For primary SMTP server, I enter in the IP address. For the port, I enter 25. Authentication is none. I get the following erro...
