Are there any special requirements for DNS tests? I am trying to set UDP/TCP DNS test against W2K and Unix based DNS servers, but these tests fail with No answer status. However I am able to use nslookup from command prompt. Tested with HM 3.13 beta.

No special requirements. Could you please provide addresses of these DNS servers (for testing)? Or you can send your HML file to our address line1@ks-soft.net

Please fell free to test dns.iol.cz, ns2.tel.cz or ns.icg.cz. Unfortunately I think this is not problem of these specific DNS servers.

When I tried to click on Resolve button this warning window appeared - "An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions."

Tested on WXP and W2K+SP2.

This error appears when you use name of DNS server. If you use IP address of DNS server, program works. I will check the code, hope patch will be available today.

Done. Patch available http://www.ks-soft.net/download/hm313.zip
I did not test program with your DNS servers because I cannot even ping it, but with another servers it works correctly.

BTW: This version of HostMonitor contains new HML Manager (menu File->Start HML Manager), also some errors was fixed.
I think on next week will be available new distributive.

Thanks, it works.

BTW what is the advantage of HML Manager? Are there some features which are not in HostMonitor itself? It is a little bit confusing.

HML Manager does not monitor anything, it helps you organize tests in HML files. There are documentation for old version of HML Manager: http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/hml-mgr.htm
