The Host Monitor web console keeps failing several times per day. To help keep the Host Monitor web console running, a script is run to stop the Host Monitor web console and restart it every two hours.
Specifically, we run 'net stop' on the "KS Web Service" service and kill the "hostmon.exe" process. The "KS Advanced Host Monitor" and "KS Web Service" services are then started.
Resetting the service and process causes an interruption in the Host Monitor web console for a few minutes, every two hours. However, it allows the Host Monitor web console to be functional during the day, except for the small outages while the resetting script is run.
Is there a cure for the Host Monitor web console, to make it stay running? Perhaps we are running too many tests or have some other problem which would cause the Host Monitor web console to fail periodically during the day.

Web Console keeps failing
Could you please explain what exactly means "fail"? What error is displayed by web browser? What happens if you press "Refresh" button? Exactly the same error is displayed again and again until you restart HostMonitor?
Could you check HostMonitor GUI at this time? Does it work fine? Any errors in NT Event Log or system log file (specified on System Log page in the Options dialog)?
What version of HostMonitor and Web Service do you use?
Windows? Service Pack?
Do you have installed some antivirus monitors, personal firewall, content monitoring software? Non stanard winsock components?
Could you check resource usage for each process when this problem appears again? You may use standard Windows Task Manager to check Handles, GDI and USER objects. What is the total resource usage on the system? How many handles/threads/GDI objects used by hostmon.exe process?
Regards
Alex
