Version 6.82 of Hostmonitor
Fails with message "Error: Cannot send message to Jabber account myaccountname@gmail.com. Invalid recipient or recipient unavailable; Set the 'to' attribute of stream element to the domain part of the user's JID. Example: to='gmail.com'.
I have my full Gmail address as JID, login server is talk.google.com, the password for my gmail account, and port 5222.
This works with jabber.org but that server seems to be up and down a lot.
Thanks,
Jim

As I know, Google Talk uses TLS authentication, that has not been supported by HostMonitor yet. So, HostMonitor is unable to connect to talk.google.com server. However, HostMonitor is able to send messages to your google talk account via other jabber servers, like jaber.org. If you have doubts regarding jabber.org reliability, you may specify another jabber server into "Backup Jabber account" area in "Options" -> "Jabber" tab. If HostMonitor cannot send message through the primary account, it will try to send messages using backup account. In fact, you may install your own Jabber server on one of your servers. Here is a list of most popular servers: http://www.jabber.org/servers
Beside that, several our customers use OpenFire (former WildFire) as primary Jabber server: http://www.jivesoftware.com/products/openfire/
