We're monitoring a process (it's an audio coder) which is running on different machines. The application crashes somestimes with a "C++ Runtime error..." but the the process still appears in the process list of the machine.
Is it possible to monitor a machine and generate an alert if such a window (in this case the window's title is 'C++ Runtime error') appears on a machine?
The application doesn't write logfiles....no logfile-monitoring possible
Anybody an idea how to solve this otherwise?
Thanks,
jfreude
Process Monitoring / Error window
Do you mean application does not record log file when error appears, otherwise it adds some records on regular basis, e.g. every 5 min?The application doesn't write logfiles....no logfile-monitoring possible
Then you may use File/Folder Availability test method with "Alert when file does not exist or older than 5 min" option

I see.
HostMonitor does not provide "alert by window title" option. You may try to find 3rd party command line utility and use it with External or Shell Script test method.
On the other hand, we can create such utility for you... Please send request to support@ks-soft.net and provide your order number and/or registration name.
