2 hostmonitors using the same agents

Post by dataegg »

Hi,

We're using host monitor to monitor our systems (approx 150 servers)
Is it possible to have a second hostmonitor server using the same agents and execute the same and/or other tests?

Should we have an addtional license for this second hostmonitor and should it have a license for the number of agents it is monitoring?, the second system will not monitor all the hosts the first hostmonitor is monitoring.

regards,
martin

Yes, such configuration is possible.

The single license allows you to install HostMonitor on ONE system. If you want to run (install) HostMonitor on a number of systems then you have to buy the same number of licenses. http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/regmon.htm#numoflic
Enterprise license option includes license for using 10 Remote Monitoring Agents. However, if the second system will not monitor all the hosts as first, you may purchase other license (e.g Proffesional or Standard) and also purchase set of 10 or 100 Remote Monitoring Agents separately: http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/regmon.htm#tools
