searching date stamp in Text Log

Post by JimiLotus »

I want to monitor a text log to see if has stopped updating. So I want to monitor the time stamp in the log and if it isn't the current hour then change status to bad. So in the Text Log string I've put in %yy%-%mm%-%dd% %hh% and ticked the macro button. However, whether the time stamp in the log is the current hour or not the test status is OK. have I got the right end of the stick...?

I think you should use simple "Folder/File Availability" test method with "Alert if file doesn't exist or older than 60 min" option

Sure, that's where I started. But for some reason the timestamp on the log file doesn't update regularly despite that the fact that the log is being written to constantly. So then I started looking inside the file. The file size stamp does update constantly.

I don't know what is wrong with that file but I think you may use "File Intergrity" test method with "Recalculate CRC" and "Reverse alert" options enabled.
