App or Service

Post by johnm »

I am currently evaluating HM, so far it looks awesome!

I would like to know, what are the reasons for installing as a service? What are the reasons for installing as an application?

Thanks...

If different users use the system for some purpose and they login/logout locally to the system, install HostMonitor as service.
If system is used only for monitoring, HostMonitor can be installed as service or application...

I havent dl'd the software yet, but I have 1 question. If it is installed as a service can I still pull up the GUI and see what is being monitored or change/add what is monitored?

Yes, HostMonitor displays icon in system tray. Click on icon to open main window...
