Whenever I try to run HostMonitor 4.40 as a service on a Windows 2000 server with SP4, current critical updates, and Symantec Corporate Edition Antivirus 8 installed, the IPSec Policy Agent service will not start and IE6.0 has it's cipher strength set to 0-bit encryption. Uninstalling HostMonitor doesn't fix the problem. The only fix I have found so far is to reformat and do a clean OS install.
Running Hostmonitor as an application works fine.
The problem has been narrowed down to Hostmonitor, it doesn't happen until HostMon is run as a service.
Do you have any thoughts on how to correct this?
IPSec prevented from starting
Tried to find some explanation, but...
HostMonitor does not change any system settings, it neither replaces nor installs any DLLs. It works fine on our systems (most of our systems are Windows 2000 SP4), IPSec Policy Agent service works together with HostMonitor. And we never got report about such error (I have checked our mail base).
Probably its not HostMonitor's fault?
Regards
Alex
