RCC and Play Sound

Post by johnm »

Love the RCC but how come when an alert is triggered with "Play Sound" the sound is not heard on the remote machine running RCC?

Although your point makes good sense from a tehnical point of view it would be *really* nice if sounds could be played on the RCC as well. An RCC that can't play sound doesn't eliminate the need for the GUI from HostMon.exe.
We were planning on using only RCC's to administer our HostMonitor but it seems like we might need the GUI itself after all as the sounds is the very first thing that brings our attention to HM when something goes bad.

I didn't say we don't want to implement such option. We plan to do that.
I just said its not a bug. If some feature does not exist, its theme to discuss in "Wish list" forum

That's excellent - can't wait to see (hear) it !

Sure, however I didn't want to start a new thread when a thread with a very descriptive name already existed (the first thread returned when a forum search on 'RCC no sound' is performed).
